Highland Dance

Classes available for ages 4+. Traditional dance classes are taught by Scottish Official Board of Highland Dance certified instructor.

Highland Hustle

A fun dance-fitness class originating in Scotland! Two left feet? Don’t worry! This class is all about having fun. Ages 16+.

Highland Hustle Tots

Parents get to dance alongside their Tot in this class! It is ideal for kids aged 18 months – 3 years.

Instruction

All Highland Dance, Highland Hustle, and Highland Hustle Tots classes are taught by Royal Scottish Official Board of Highland Dance certified instructor, Allie Gibson Murad. Allie has danced for over 20 years and has taught Highland Dance to all ages since 2007.

Proud to be local

We love to be a part of the East Lansing community. From performances around town to hosting our annual Spartan Tartan Competition on the campus of Michigan State University in April each year, we are excited to be a local small business. We are very excited to be a recipient of a 2020 East Lansing Arts Commission Grant to assist with competition sponsorship.

Allie is a fantastic teacher who is very patient, kind and has a true passion for highland dance that she shares with her students. Her school is very adult friendly and she is amazing to work with especially if you don’t have prior dance experience or knowledge. She takes the time to help you really understand the different movements and is very encouraging! I also love the fact that she offers Highland Hustle which is a fun spin on Zumba. You don’t have to have dance experience or special shoes for that class! Just a great attitude! Thanks for creating such a phenomenal environment to learn highland dance! My daughter started at the Gibson School after having met Ms. Allie and some of the dancers at an event. What really stuck out for me was the fact that the studio owner is also THE instructor and her willingness to work with dancers of any age, even the little ones. My daughter started after just turning 3 and she’s 5 1/2 now and to see how she has grown and her self confidence has grown is awesome. We love the studio and all the amazing families that belong to it. My daughter has some really great girls that she can look up to as role models. Ms. Allie is an excellent instructor that really cares for the girls and gives the studio a real family feel.
